Helmsley is on the river Rye. 2 miles north west is Rievaulx Abbey ruin. In Helmsley is the ruin of the Castle with a visitor centre... The church of All Saints is an anglican parish church, a thousand years old. Helmsley is the starting point of Walks, the Cleveland Way and Ebor Way.-------Bus 31X from York 09-28 [ please check ] Also bus 128 from Pickering, roughly hourly, i believe this bus runs from Scarborough.
