Hi Alec. We spent 5 days in Helmsley and loved it. We visited Rievaulx Abbey while there. Our hotel was right on the market square and it was our view from the window. We also visited the Walled Garden, the local castle, the International Birds of Prey Centre on my birthday, Rievaulx Terrace, Nunnington Hall with the Carlisle Collection of miniature rooms and Beningbrough Hall and Gardens. It's a great base for touring the area and a very friendly town.
